Women's Health

A Holistic Approach to Women’s Health
Women often take care of everyone else but themselves. This leads to sleep deprivation, poor eating habits, gut issues, and increased stress, which can all compromise the immune system. At PHW, we take a whole-woman, root-cause approach that goes beyond conventional gynecology. Our providers address irregular cycles, PMS, perimenopause, menopause, PCOS, endometriosis, hormone balance, and preconception counseling by addressing the underlying physiology rather than defaulting to birth control. Lifestyle modifications are often necessary, particularly in nutrition, physical activity, sleep hygiene, and minimizing exposure to toxins and endocrine disruptors. Other problems may benefit from supplements, herbal medicines, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), and occasional pharmaceutical therapies. For hormone replacement, we use bioidentical hormones, the ones mother nature gave us, instead of synthetics. Every woman is unique, so each woman ends up with her own specific hormone replacement, whether that's a patch, cream, gel, vaginal hormone, or injection. Listen to Joleen Zivnuska, APRN, MSN, talk about HRT for women on our podcast episode HRT for Women with Joleen Zivnuska.
